If you wish to preserve the original colour for longer, you can treat the picnic table with Douglas Oil - Natural. The first treatment should be applied twice, followed by an annual treatment. This treatment is only for preserving the colour. Treated and untreated picnic tables have the same lifespan. Never paint the picnic table with regular paint, as the paint will flake off when the wood naturally expands and contracts, rendering the table unusable!
